Dubois, on his official letterhead, as Vice Chairman, Council on African Affairs, writes to urge Dickerson to accept the nomination to run with Vincent Hallinan on the Progressive Party ticket for the Presidential election of 1952. "There is coming in America a tremendous upheaval in popular sentiment. It will not probably come this year, but it will in less than ten years ..."
